Myrtle Mae (Rankins) Scroggins, 82, of Hulbert died Friday, May 31, 1996, in Tahlequah. She was born March 23, 1914, in Alma, Arkansas to William Pink and Zennia (Daily) Rankins. She was a member of Lakeview Cathedral and enjoyed making quilts and taking care of her family.

She married James Buster Scroggins in 1932 in Wagoner. He preceded her in death in 1977. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Wallace, her parents, Zennia and William Pink Rankins, two sisters, Vina Ward and Beulah Baker and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Scroggins is survived by her children; Ruby Carr and husband, Son of Lost City; Dolly Tillison and husband, Mitchell of Muskogee; Richard Scroggins and wife, Susie of Porum; Jessie Walker and husband David, of Tahlequah; Lloyd Scroggins of Wagoner; Lois Dobson and husband, J.B. of Tahlequah; Helen Hendrix and husband, Raymond, of Tahlequah; J.B. Scroggins and wife, Sue of Wagoner; Bobby Scroggins and wife, Bernice of Wagoner; and Brenda Lenard and husband, Johnny of Wagoner; two brothers, Earnest and Elmer Rankins, both of Wagoner; two sisters, Ida Rankins and Pearl Patton; 33 grandchildren; and 56 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, June 4, 1996, in the Lakeview Cathedral with Pastor Roy Brown officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Carr, William Carr, Mitchell Tillison, II, Jacky Hendrix, Bobby Scroggins, Jr. and Danny Walker. Honorary pallbearers were Rusty Miller, Buster Lenard, Jeff Crossno, Paul Adair, Brian Scroggins and Darrell Patterson.

Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
