Death Takes Mrs. Cisler

Mrs. Mary E. Blohm Cisler, aged 87 years, widow of Charles H. Cisler, died at her home on Cisler Home Farm east of Marietta on Monday afternoon. She suffered a stroke of paralysis on Sunday morning and did not rally.

Mrs Cisler was a daughter of the late Louis and Frances Blohm who were among the early settlers in the Stanleyville neighborhood. She was born at Stanleyville on April 30, 1849. Following her marriage with Charles H. Cisler in 1869 the family home was established on the old Cisler homestead farm where Mr. and Mrs. Cisler lived in their attractive country home for the remainder of their lives. Mr. Cisler died in December of 1914.

Mrs. Cisler was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Marietta in which she was one of the oldest members in years of membership and also in age. She was affectionately devoted to her home and family and church and was revered in a wide circle of friends.

Surviving their parents are three sons and a daughter, Dr. Louis H. Cisler, formerly a practicing physician in Marietta, who has been an invalid in the family home for many years, Dr. Reuben T. Cisler and Mrs. Clara L. Goodhue of Marietta and J. Wallace Cisler of Cisler Home Farm who, with his wife, helped to care for the parents in their declining years and who also care for the invalid in the home.

There are six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One of the grandchildren, the late Mrs. Frances Cisler Briggs, was reared in the home of her grandmother from childhood. The last survivor of six brothers and sisters in Mrs. Cisler's family is Louis Blohm of Hollywood, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at Cisler Home Farm on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Rev. W.L. Spielman, D.D., pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, will conduct the service. Interment will be made in Oak Grove.
