Mrs. Clara Goodhue Dies at Her Home After Long Illness

Mrs. Clara Cisler Goodhue, 70, widow of Ralph A Goodhue, died Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at her home, 424 Fifth St., following extended illness. The body is at the Hadley funeral home.

Mrs. Goodhue was born Dec. 5, 1878, on the Cisler home farm east of Marietta, the only daughter of Charles H. and Mary Blohm Cisler. She was graduated with the class of 1898 from Marietta High School, after which she studied at Western College for Women at Oxford where she took special work in art and music. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Nov. 27, 1902, she was married to Ralph A. Goodhue of Wheeling, and she lived for 14 years in Wheeling where her husband was engaged in business. The family returned to Marietta in 1917. Mr. Goodhue who was the proprietor of Kelly News and Stationery Store, died in 1936.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Earl H. Blair of Chicago; Miss Sarah Goodhue of the home who is a teacher in Marietta public schools and Mrs. George L. Meyer of 336 Sixth St. There are three grandchildren, Nancy Lee and Susan Blair of Chicago and Allan G. Meyer of Marietta. J. Wallace Cisler of the Cisler home farm is the surviving brother. Two brothers, Reuben T. Cisler and Dr. Louis H. Cisler are dead.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the family home. Rev. C. William Black will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove. The body will be taken from the Hadley funeral home to the family home Tuesday noon.
