Services Today for C. Earle Johnston

Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. for C. Earle Johnston, 69, who died last Wednesday morning in an Ontario hospital, where he had been taken the day before for medical attention. Services were held from the Northam-Jones chapel, with the Weiser Masonic lodge, of which he was a member, and the Rev. Dan Peterson of the Christian church officiating. Interment was at Hillcrest cemetery in Weiser. Pall bearers were: H.W. Benfer, E.W. Horner, Max Jermain, Hix K. Marcus Reinhaus and Dale Thomason.

The deceased, was a long-time Weiser resident and had been employed as a bookkeeper, bank clerk, cream station operator and the immediate past 10 years, had operated a fuel business on Washington street in Weiser.

He was born in Lion Co., Nebr., Feb. 21, 1883, but had lived most of his life in Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died eight years ago.

A little known fact, was his accomplishment as an artist-penmanship, having been graduated many years ago from Links school in Boise, majoring in penmanship. For many years he signed the diplomas for graduates of the Intermountain Institute, when operated by the Rev. E. A. Paddock.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter and a brother, Frank O. of Weiser, who has been a partner in the Johnston and Brent firm for 49 years. The children are, Edwin of Seattle, Arthur of Hollywood, and his twin sister Mrs. Eleanor Adams of Mann creek, and Floyd of Weiser.
