Lorrene Volle-Erickson- Horn, 74, of Elgin, died Friday May 3, 1996, at her home.
A memorial service will begin at 11am Tuesday at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 Seventh St., LaGrande, with Bill Miller officiating.
Mrs Volle was born June 29, 1921, in Greeley Colo., to Clarence and Lilly (Southard) Horn. She and her family moved to High Valley near Unon and later to Elgin.
She attended schools in Nebraska, Union and Elgin. She was a cook at the Brunswick in Elgin and the truck stop and the Long Branch in La Grande. During World War II she was a welder in the shipyards in Portland.
Mrs Volle was a member of the Elgin Christian Church. She was a charter member of the Elgin VFW Auxiliary and belonged to the Hermiston Grange. She loved needlecrafting and sewing and made many quilts.
She was married to Milton H. Erickson, and they had four children. She marrided Robert William "Bill" Volle on Sept 12, 1976, in Elgin.
Survivors include Bill in Elgin; children, Milton Randy Erickson of Sparks, Nev., and Ed Erickson and Tony ERickson, both of Elgin; stepdaughters, Barbara Volle Normandy of La Grande and Cathy Powers of Tigard; stepsons Bob volle of Elgin and John volle of Sommerville; sisters, Betty Cross of Elgin, Bobby Hudspeth of Doyle, Calif., and Ginger Rand of Hermiston; brothers, Edwin"Tuffy", Stanley and Danny Horn all of Hermiston, and Glenn Horn of Elgin; and many grandchildren. A son, Marvin Dale Erickson; Her brothers Lawrence "Shorty" Horn, Eugene Horn and Vance Horn; and a sister, Alice Horn, died earlier
