Marsale Eaton Siddoway, age 93, passed away December 8, 1999 at her home in Vernal, Utah. She was born September 23, 1906 in Vernal, a daughter of Irvine Eaton and Mary Fuller Eaton. Marsale was one of four children born to her parents. Her younger sister , Gwenna Bricker, is the only surviving member of the family.

She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Siddoway, April 21, 1924 in Vernal, Utah. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are parents of three children: Cheryl and Lynn of Vernal, and Bill of Pleasant Grove. They have seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Throughout her life she was involved in the community and church work for children. She served as Stake Primary President for the Uintah Stake when extensive travel was involved. Trips to Lapoint, Tridell, Dutch John and Rangely, in addition to communities within the valley, were a constant part of her service. She served as Uintah Stake Primary President for seven years and another seven as Ashley Stake was organized. Later she served as the President of the Relief Society in the Vernal First Ward. This was during the time when Relief Society organizations were responsible to raise funds to cover the expenses of their programs. Her annual Relief Society Bazaars were a community-wide attraction.

Christmas for Marsale was virtually a year-round event, with planning and shopping occurring months in advance. Gifts and remembrances for many people throughout the community were prepared. She and Ralph would make trips to the mountains to obtain Christmas Trees for chapels and homes, often with hair-raising stories about snow drifts and roads that were drifted closed.

Marsale served as officer in the Utah Municipal League Auxiliary, culminating her activity with the League as its president. She developed friendships throughout the state of Utah during these experiences.

She was one of the organizers and founders of the Beaux Arts Club in Vernal. She helped to bring educational and cultural prbgrams to the community through this organization. She also served as a Pink Lady with the hospital auxiliary for nearly 20 years.

Marsale will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, church and community. Her family and countless others with whom she has been involved have been elevated to a higher, happier life because of her.

Her husband, Ralph, preceded her in death on September 28, 1999.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 13, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the Vernal Fifth Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call Thomson's Vernal Mortuary on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday at the chapel one hour prior to services.
