Noah A. Eaker, 85 years old, died Monday in a hospital in Cape Girardeau, where he had been a patient for a month. Born November 8, 1874 near Lutesville.
He married in 1896 to Ollie Shelton, who died in 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Eaker made their home in Lutesville until 1920 when they moved to Cape.
In 1945, Mr. Eaker retired from farming and moved to Chaffee.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Nellie) Fowler of Cape Girardeau, MO; Mrs. Seth (Mary A.) Craft of Cape Girardeau, MO; Mrs. Walter (Gladys) King of Akron, OH; and Mrs. D.V. (Hazel E.) Parks of Kingsdale, OH; four sons, Oscar of Chaffee, MO; Orville of Cape Girardeau, MO; Elvin of Cape Girardeau, MO; and George of Cape Girardeau, MO; a brother, Kale of Lutesville, MO; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held today at the General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau of which Mr. Eaker was a member. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape.
