"William Branning died suddenly 10 March 1900, at his home near Atco, on Saturday afternoon, aged about 83 years. The funeral was held on Tuesday, Rev. C. L. Percy, pastor of the Honesdale Baptist church,officiating. The deceased is survived by two sons and one daughter, Artemus and Walter, of Atco, and Mrs. Allen Lee, of Michigan. Mr. Branning was one of the most highly respected residents of Damascus township. He had been prominently identified with the Baptist association for a half century and had served as clerk and deacon of the Ashland church since 1878."
