Schwartzentruber, Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Yoder, was born in Iowa on Oct. 2, 1880; died at Kitchener, Ont., Sept. 10, 1974; aged 93 y. She was married to Daniel Schwartzentruber, who died in 1950. Surviving are 2 daughters (Lydia - Mrs. Stan Ruby and Erma - Mrs. Elmer Baechler), 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 brothers (Vernon, David, Jacob, John, and Henry). She was a member of the Tavistock Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Sept. 14, in charge of Wilmer Martin; interment in the East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery.

The Gospel Herald obituary above has a major error, which needs correction.
Mary was married first (in Iowa) - 13 Oct 1902 - to Daniel E Swartzendruber. Daniel died in April, 1903 leaving Mary pregnant.
A son, Daniel, was born 2 Dec 1903. This is the Daniel that died in Ontario in 1950 (see above obit).
Mary married(2) Jacob Swartzendruber 3 Feb 1904.
Mary's first and second husbands were brothers, from Ontario, who apparently went down to Iowa a few years earlier.
Husband #1 Daniel is buried in Iowa -- Upper Deer Creek Cemetery.
Mary and Jacob, with son Daniel and daughter Erma Mae (Baechler) came to Alberta in 1910. A second daughter was born in Alberta in 1912 -- Lydia (Ruby)
Jacob and Mary lived in Alberta until about 1925 ?? and then moved to Ontario, with the two girls. Daniel (the son) stayed in Alberta. He married Mattie Lauber. After Maitie died, Daniel moved to Ontario, remarried, and lived out his life there, dying in 1950.
The entire Levi D Yoder family came to Alberta in 1910-1912, including the two married daughters; Mary and Katie, and several sons.
