Schwartzentruber. --- Jacob E., son of the late Joel Schwartzentruber and Veronica Erb, was born at Tavistock, Ont., May 10, 1881; died suddenly, of a heart attack, while visiting at the home of his son-in-law and daughter (Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Baechler), Wellesley, Ont., March 3, 1950; aged 68 y. 11 m. 23 d. In his youth he united with the Amish Mennonite Church, East Zorra, remaining faithful until death. Surviving are his wife (the former Mary Yoder), 2 daughters (Erma-Mrs. Elmer Baechler, of Wellesley; and Lydia-Mrs. Stanley Ruby, Kitchener, Ont.), 2 sisters (Katie-Mrs. Aaron Ruby, Pigeon, Mich., and Barbara-Mrs. Christian Leis, of Tavistock), one brother (Joel, Tavistock), and 8 grandchildren. One son (Daniel) predeceased him in 1948. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter (Erma) on March 6, in charge of Samuel Schultz, and at the East Zorra Amish Mennonite Church, with Henry Yantzi and David Schwartzentruber officiating . Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
