A native of Star, NC and a resident of Buncombe County since 1962. He retired from Walker Manufacturing Company and retired after 20 years of service from the U.S. Airforce having served during W.W. II and Korea.
He was the son of the late Robert Henry Allen and Bertie Gertrude Haney Allen.
Surviving are his wife, Alma M. Allen of the home; step-daughters, Wilma Jean Maxwell of Highlands, Darlene Channel and husband, Ron of Swannanoa and Sandra Lee Maxwell of Atlanta, GA; step-son, Eddie Maxwell and wife, Diane of Asheville; 12 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Forrest Lawn Memorial Park.
