Mrs. Allen was born in Transylvania County and was a daughter of the late Robert and Sally McFalls Conner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benson Allen and a daughter, Darlene Channel. Mrs. Allen was well known in the Asheville area as a waitress at Woolworth's and then for 27 years at the Hot Shot Cafe in Biltmore. She never met a stranger.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Maxwell and Jean Maxwell; son, Eddie Maxwell (Diane); 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Fairview.
