Survived by wife of 67 years, Winona Rae (L'Heureux); children: Kiley Maxwell-Ward (Ken dec. 2005, Marc Ward), Bruce Bohrer (Peggy), Nancy Bohrer, Barb Breithaupt (Jim); grandchildren: Jaret, Chase and Connor Breithaupt, Chelsea Maxwell (Dan Jurik), Mick Mast (Kurtis), Cole Bohrer (Michaela Davis), Andrew and Luke Bohrer; great-grandchildren, Sienna Jurik and Leighton Jo Bohrer; many nieces and nephews.

Served two years in the army after which he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln to receive an engineering degree.

Enjoyed a long, successful career as a civil engineer with the Soil Conservation Service and private sector firms, earned professional engineering certification in both Nebraska and Iowa.

Private family service and burial at Campbell Presbyterian Cemetery in Campbell, NE.
