Funeral services for Karl Sammet, better known as "Charlie", were held Thursday at 3 p.m. November 15 at the Mt. Zion Church with Bro. A. M. Creel and Bro. A. J. Rollings officiating.
The deceased had been ill for some time and succumbed at his home. He was born July 28, 1888 and spent his entire life here where he lived to the age of 57 years, 3 months and 15 days.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah; five children, Mrs. Katherine Morell, Mrs. Caroline Bryant, PFC Charlie Sammet Jr., William Sammet and Lewis Sammet; three brothers, Fred Sammet of Union, MO, Albert Sammet of Athens, and Otto Sammet of Detroit; one sister, Bertha Gey of Detroit; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
He was a devoted husband and father to his family, a sincere friend to those who knew him and a member of the Church of Christ.
Interment was at the Germantown Cemetery near his home, Rainey of Ardmore directing.
