James Ellyett, Jr.. Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 21, 1997 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. James William Ellyett, Jr., the son of James Sr., and Hazel (Feltner) Ellyett, was born at Berryville, Virginia, on November 4, 1917, and died at Omaha, Nebraska, on January 17, 1997, at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 13 days. He graduated from High School at Upperville, Virginia in 1937. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War 2 and the Korean War, from June of 1941, until his retirement after 20 years, in July of 1961. Following his discharge he moved to Aurora, where he was City Water Commissioner for 20 years. On November 17, 1973, he was united in marriage to Dolores (Ott) Fye, at Aurora. Jim was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church; belonged to the American Legion, V.F.W., Eagles Club Aerie # 378 in Grand Island, the Retired Officers TROA, and had bowled at Mapleway Lanes since 1961. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Howard and Kenneth; 3 sisters, Elvira Spindle, Mable Kennon and Marian Mathers. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Dolores of Aurora; 2 sons, James III of Springdale, Arkansas, and Gregory of Whitesboro, Texas; 4 daughters, Linda Mowery of Whitacre, Virginia, Amy Wiseman of Grand Island, Marjorie Banse of Aurora, and Patty Ellyett of Mesquite, Texas; 4 sisters, Virginia Owens, Louise Dick, Margerite Pearson, and Dorothy Poe all of Virginia; 2 step-sons, Tony Fye of Aurora, and Doug Fye of Grand Island; 4 step-daughters, Sandy Fye, Debra Vetter, Jo Heiser all of Aurora,l and Annie Gibson of Hastings; 18 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
