She grew up at Polk and graduated from Polk High School. She was employed at the telephone company in York for about a year before her marriage. On September 4, 1955, she was united in marriage to Ron Beins at Polk, and they farmed near Aurora.
"Bert" was a member of the Aurora Christian Church, and belonged to the Sullivan-Davis Circle. She was also a past president of Chapter AC P.E.O. and was a member of an extension club for several years.
She was a certified nursing assistant and had worked at the Hamilton Manor for the last few months. She loved nature and children.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Carlson.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Ron of Aurora; 2 sons, Rod of Aurora, and Russ of Dallas, Texas; 3 daughters, Rhonda Grosshans of Aurora, Becky Sharp of Omaha, and Robin Sanderson of Marquette; 2 sisters, Corinne Adelson of Polk and Janice Lampshire of Minden; 4 grandsons, one granddaughter, and her parents, Clarence and Hazel Johnson of Polk, and many other relatives and friends.
