1LT Artem Abramovich (tank commander), SGT Yaroslav Antoniuk (mechanic-driver), PVT Petro Barbukh (gunner) entered into a duel with the Russian tank T-72 in the area of Nikiforovo township, Snizhnyansk city council, Donetsk region. The crew of the Ukrainian tank has since been considered missing.
On October 3, 2014, the remains of A. Abramovich were found in the skeleton of a T-64 tank by searchers of the Evacuation-200 Mission (Black Tulip) and brought to Zaporizhia.
Identified by DNA tests. Buried May 23, 2015.
In this battle, two enemy T-72 tanks were destroyed. The Ukrainian side lost the T-64 tank (Abramovich, Barbukh, Antonyuk) and the BMP-2. CWO2 Dmytro Rudenko and SGT Bohdan Lutsko were killed from the BMP-2 crew.
He is survived by his parents and wife, whom he married six months before his death.
