Rufus Bridges

Rufus Andrew Bridges of Louise, age 72, died Monday at his residence after an illness of about two years.

A resident of Louise since 1943, Mr. Bridges was a farmer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p. m. in Poplar Creek church close to Winona with the Rev. Lamar Wilkinson of Yazoo City officiating. Interment followed in Poplar Creek cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs R. A. Bridges of Louise; five daughters, Mrs. A L. Chapman and Mrs. Henry Robins of Anguilla, Mrs. Chester Adams of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Avanelle Mims of Greenville and Mrs. Milton Thornhill of Rolling Fork; four sons, W. P. Bridges of Louise, Kermit H. Bridges of Cleveland, Rufus E. Bridges and Delma Bridges of Anguilla; 31 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers S. B. Bridges and Lee Bridges of Winona; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Barnhill of Starkville and Mrs Clarence Chesteen of French Camp.

Serving as pallbearers were his eight nephews.
