She was born in McAlester, to Joe Brown and Rebecca (Eldridge) Allford. She graduated from Indianola High School and married Homer Eugene Lusk on March 29, 1957, in McAlester. She lived in Indianola until the death of her husband on July 12, 1971, at which time she moved to McAlester. She worked as a seamstress at Seamprufe until she began working for Wal-Mart when they opened in McAlester. At Wal-Mart, she worked as a sales clerk, department manager and was on the support team until her retirement. She then returned as a part-time employee until her retirement after 25 years due to her health. She was a homemaker and member of the Choate Prairie Baptist Church since 1954. She passed away at the McAlester hospital at the age of 62. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
