Original Land Grant records of the Armstrong-Notasulga (Macon County), Alabama area, show that Marlin Marion received a grant of 120 Acres on October 5, 1850. In 1858, they moved to Northwest-central Louisiana, near Lake Bistineau, where they lived for about a year. Then moving on to Arkansas, they settled near Lockesburg, in Sevier County. Marlin Marion enlisted, in Arkansas, in the Confederate Army. He died on April 27, 1865, in Camden, Arkansas and was buried in the Confederate Cemetery there.

Jesse Edwin Zachry II, William Marion Zachry, Georgia Octavo Zachry, Roxanna Eller Zachry, Thomas Jefferson Zachry, Mary Elizabeth Zachry, Henry Clay Zachry, John Penn Zachry, James Madison Zachry and Jasper Marlin Zachry.
