Katherine (Foley) Langford was the daughter of T. Foley and Mary Shay, both of Ireland. Katherine was born on July 7, 1824 in Ireland and died Sept 10, 1917 in Motley, Minnesota, she was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Katherine married Francis Langford and they had five children: Julia (Langford) Wood, Mary Ann (Langford) Potts, John Langford, Richard Frank Langford and Ellen (Langford) Madigan.

Obit was located in the Motley Mercury, Motley, Morrison Co., Minnesota on 9/21/1917 p.1 and reads as follows:
Katherine Langford. Mrs. Katherine Langford, mother of Mrs. Thos. Madigan, passed away Saturday morning at the home of her daughter in Crow Wing Valley. She has been confined to her bed for some time owing to her old age.
The remains were taken to Minneapolis Monday and on Tuesday they were laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery.
The deceased was 93 years old at the time of her death and was born in Ireland in 1824, coming to America in 1847. She had five children, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. T.E. Potts, of Wahkon, Minn.; John Langsford, of Minneapolis; Richard Langsford, of Rich Valley, Minn.; Mrs. Julia Wood, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Thos. Madigan, of Motley. All were at the funeral of their mother in Minneapolis.
The children have the sympathy of all in the loss of their beloved mother."

No stone was seen in the cemetery.
