Rita Kathryn Kloss, a resident of Royalton, died Aug. 14, 2006, at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 18 at Holy Tri nity Catholic Church in Royalton with Father Laurn Virnig officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Rita K. Kloss was born Sept. 2, 1927, in St. Cloud to the late Leo and Rose (Gottwalt)Popp. She grew up on a farm near Rice. Rita attended and graduated from St. Francis High School in Little Falls. She worked as a waitress at Andy's Supper Club and the grocery store in Rice. Rita began piano and organ lessons and became an organist and played organ in Royalton, Rice and Rockville. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Kloss on Nov. 10, 1947, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice. The couple made their home on a farm East of Royalton where they lived until 1997 when they moved to Royalton. Rita was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton and a member of the Christian mothers. She enjoyed p laying organ, was an excellent cook, loved flowers and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rita also enjoyed time with her brothers and sisters. They were able to bring out the best in Rita. She always had a glow on her face when she was with them.

Rita is survived by her husband Lawrence; sons Jeffrey (Jackie) Kloss, Bruce (Cheryl) Kloss, all of Royalton and Brad (Mary) of Reno, NV; siblings Leona (Ben) Kasella of Little Falls, Marion (Tony) Kasella of Little Falls, Sr. M. Lerose, O.S.F., Little Falls, Elmer (Bernie) Popp of Opole, Robert (Alma) Popp of Rice, Harold (Valeria) Popp of Orange City, FL, Ernie (Delores) Popp of Rice, Joanne (Adi) Zistl of St. Stephen, Correen Garner of Sartell, Roselyn (John) Huver of Rice and Johnelle (Doug) Novak of Foley; grandchildren, Jeffery (Amanda Rudolph) Kloss, Jr., Adrian Kloss, Aa ron (Hanna Johnson) Kloss, Joe Kloss, Kayla, Kloss and Kelsey Kloss; step- grandchildren Melissa Waddell, Guy Waddell, Jr., James Waddell, Kristina Kipka and husband Dale, Stephanie Latterell, Andrea Latterell and Ashley Latterell; great-grandchildren, Michael Kloss, Matthew Kloss, Lane Kloss, Nicole Kloss, Alli Hanneken, Jacob Hoheisel, Brody Hartnik, Janeica Kipka, Logan Kipka, Emerck Latterell and Benjamin Stay.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Roman, Aurther, Wilfred, Marvin and Leo, Jr. Kloss; grandson Kyle Kloss and step-granddaughter, Jackie Waddell.

Casketbearers were Jeffrey, Adrian, Aaron and Joe Kloss, Tom Popp and Myron Gleisner.
