RIRIE, ID -- Jean Harris Hammon, 75, of Ririe, Idaho, died July 22, 2007, at her home.

She was born February 27, 1932, to her parents, Arthur Chase Harris and Verna Mae Layman Harris. She grew up and attended schools in the Ririe area.

She married Donald Roy Hammon April 27, 1950. Currently they live outside of Ririe. She was a homemaker, wonderful mother, and waitress.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities, including Young Women President, Relief Society President, ward missionary, and temple worker. She served a full-time LDS mission with her husband to the Nevada, Las Vegas Mission, in the Arizona area. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing games with the grandchildren, and serving others.

Son: Lee (Patti) Hammon of Orem, UT
Son: Lyle (Pamela) Hammon of Meridian, ID
Twin Sister: Joan Hill of Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Ilene Bagley of Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: Paul Harris of Sandy, UT
Brother: Arlen Harris of Oceanside, CA
16 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Hammon Kern, a son, Derlin Hammon, a brother, Reed Harris, and both of her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Ririe LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
