Clarence was the half-brother of Annie (Jackson) Lesley and nephew of Sarah (Minkler) Jenks, Julia (Minkler) Bradley Clapshaw and Clarissa (Minkler) Franklin (all buried in this cemetery); and son of Barney Minkler (aka Daniel Perry) who was the half-brother of Jasper Newton "Newt" Lesley and Jennie (Illingworth) Jackson Perry (who was Annie Jackson Lesley's mother). Clarence changed his name from Clarence Perry to Clarence Minkler probably when he discovered his father's real name was Barney Minkler and not Daniel Perry.

Clarence Minkler was a cook in the hotel in Monument when he was shot in the back by Claude Amis in "downtown" Monument, Grant, Oregon, USA. Claude Amis (FAG #41234145) was sent to prison for 5 years.

Clarence had a son, Harry W. Minkler, who died as a POW in WWII, a daughter, Thelma I. (Minkler) Lyda Herman, and an infant who drowned in the Deschutes River in or near Wasco, Oregon.
