Wed for John Call

Funeral services for John Anson Call 81, 172 West 2nd North, Bountiful, postmaster for 12 years and school teacher for many years, was conducted on Wednesday.

Services were held at 2 p.m. in the Bountiful First-Sixth ward.

Mr. died Sunday morning at his residence of an apparent heart ailment.

He was born Dec. 14, 1876, at Sunset, Ariz., a son of Israel and Medora White Call. On Dec. 23, 1907, he married Annie Beatrice Law in the Salt Lake Temple. She died December 6, 1936.

An active member of the Church, Mr. Call served a mission to Texas in 1901, and Northern California in 1944. He was secretary of his high priest quorum, a high priest in the Bountiful Sixth ward, president of Young Men's Mutual Improvement Assn., an active temple worker, chairman of the genealogical committee and active in Sons of Utah Pioneers.

He also was a ward clerk for seven years, a choir leader, Sunday School chorister and was a former Sunday School superintendent.

Mr. Call served as Bountiful postmaster from 1922 to 1934, and was an elementary school teacher at the Stoker School here for 15 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. D. Maeser (Beatrice) Mabey, Bountiful; five grandchildren; three sisters and five brothers.

Burial was in the Bountiful cemetery.

IN MEMORIAM:

Be it by the Thomas L. Kane Camp of the
Sons of the Utah Pioneers,

Whereas, John A. Call distinguished church man, leader and citizen passes away on the day of Aug. 30, 1958, and whereas, he brought trust, loyalty, dignity and devotion to every post he held, and how as loved and respected by all who knew him.

Be it resolved by the Thomas L. Kane camp of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers, that it does hereby express sincere sympathy to his bereaved family and pay tribute to him four his integrity, devotion and service, that in his passing the people of Bountiful have lost a most faithful servant both to his church, community and the many positions which he has so energetically supported during his life.

Be it further resolved that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Thomas L. Kane camp of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers, and a copy delivered to the family of John A. Call, with an expression of our sympathy and appreciation for a full life devoted to the service and development of the best interest of mankind.
