YORK T. Bruce Bambling, 82, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at Rest Haven-York. He was the hus band of Arlene M. (Hoover) Bambling for 63 years. A viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 11 N. Richland Ave., followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service, with the Rev. Roland Garvin and the Rev. Robert Wallace co-officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery with full military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2114 W. Market St., York, is entrusted with the arrangements. Mr. Bambling was born March 4, 1925, in Altoona, a son of the late Rev. Thomas and Grace (Weaver) Bambling. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Free and Accepted Mason with the Mt. Union Lodge Number 688, and a member of the American Legion Shiloh Post 791. He was the former owner of Bambling Buick Sales in Mt. Union and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Richards Chevrolet in New Freedom and later was a driver for York area auto dealerships. He attended Vale Technical Institute in Blairsville. Mr. Bambling is survived, in addition to his wife, by two daughters, Carolyn Koons and her husband, LeRoy of Jacobus, and Beth Shaw and her husband, Bradley of New Bridgeville; a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Bambling; an adopted daughter, Susan Jenkins; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rachel Whitmore of Florida. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Bambling; a brother, James Watson; and a sister, Izella Bambling.
