Maude was born March 21, 1909, at Boise, the oldest child of Edwin Mencer and May (Gilbert) Mencer, whose families both arrived in the Boise Valley in the 1870s.

Maude married Oren Fay Breshears on March 28, 1927, and had two children. She later married Frances Leroy "Slim" Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Calvin Colson; two granddaughters, Bonnie Lucas Cris McCarthy; four grandsons, Ronald Breshears, Myron Breshears, William Breshears, and Robert Breshears; six great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; two great-great-granddaughters; and one sister, Mable Williams. She was preceded in death by her son, Arnold Fay Breshears; her husbands; four brothers and one sister.
