---Matilda Wright, daughter of Summers and Naomi Wright, was born in Macon county, Mo., March 18th, 1835; died, Jan. 7th, 1892, aged 56 years, 9 months and 19 days. She was married to M. G. Elliott Nov. 11, 1852. Soon after her marriage she united with the Christian church of which she remained a faithful and consistent member until her death. To her husband she proved indeed a helpmeet, ever sharing with him the joys and sorrows of life. She was a kind, unselfish mother, always ready to deny herself that she might add to the pleasure of her children. She leaves an invalid husband, four sons and four daughters, an aged mother and many friends to mourn their loss.

Gone alway, gone away to that Heavenly land.
To join the song of the blood-washed band,
Before the white throne the ransomed to stand;
Gone away, yes gone away home.

Gone away, gone away from her dear earthly home.
From which she ere strove to drive sorrow and gloom;
Now waiting and watching for each one to come,
She will welcome the dear ones home.

Gone away, gone away, we will follow her soon,
When our Father shall see that our life work is done,
May we each hear the words, "Enter in, well done,:
Welcome home, children, welcome to stay.-----E. A. R.
