Summers Wright, son of Evans C. Wright and Rebecca Summers, was born February 20, 1804 in Wayne County, Kentucky. He married Naomi Coffey in 1825 in Wayne County, and the family moved to Missouri in 1829. Their children included: Elizabeth Moody, Mary Ann Daugherty, Serelda White, Reuben Alex Campbell Wright, Matilda Elliott, Nancy Catherine Elder, and Melissa J. Maddox.

Records concerning Summer Wright's burial are contradictory. The Missouri Death Register 1883-1893 and Summers Wright's obituary in Phyllis Mears' Macon County, Missouri Obituaries show he is buried at Mt. Tabor. However, based on family records, it appears Summers is buried in Bethel Cemetery, where Naomi is buried. An old tombstone seen in 1970 in the Bethel cemetery and now gone showed Sumers Wright b. 1804 d. 188? (taken from a rubbing). It is believed he is buried at Bethel.
