Mrs. Martha Rauscher

Martha Rauscher was born in Clay County in Nebraska, February 19, 1885, to John and Margaret (nee Redinger) Ulmer. Martha was baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit at the Emmanuel Reformed Church by Pastor Bonekemper. She was later confirmed in the Christian Faith by public confession of faith, April 2, 1900, at Emmanuel Church by Pastor Bonekemper. Part of her profession of faith was Heidelberg Catechism #57 which says, "What comfort does the resurrection of Christ offord (sic) you? That not only my soul after this life shall be immediately taken up to Christ its head, but also, that this my body, raised by the power of Christ , shall be reunited with my soul, and made like unto the glorious body of Christ."

Martha was united in marriage to Wilhelm Rauscher December 11, 1904. They lived on a farm near Sutton until the Fall of 1945 when they moved to Sutton, Nebraska. They both belonged to Hope Reformed Church of Sutton. Wilhelm was called before his Creator August 30th, 1966.

Mrs. Rauscher was called by our Sovereign Lord to her heavenly rest April 12, 1977. She now awaits in peace for her full redemption, the resurrection of her body when she is brought by Christ to the new earth. She was 92 years and one month and 24 days old.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband and one son.

Martha is survived by six sons and two daughters; Carl and August of Sutton; Wilhelm of Sacramento, California; Mrs. Ed (Sara) Bitterman of Sutton; Albert of Lincoln; Peter of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota; Reinhold of Grand Island, Nebraska; Mrs. Hugh (Frieda) Dobler of Lincoln, Nebraska.
