Son of Samuel Fowler from North Carolina. Thomas Benton Fowler married Emily Thomson on 17 Dec 1842 in Ray County, Missouri. To this union, the following children were born:

In 1838, he was a 1st Sgt. under Capt. Thomas McCuistian's Company, Mounted Volunteers in the Mormon War.


In Jan 1873, he was elected to the "collector's" office of Ray County until his death in 1875.

After Emily Thomson Fowler's death, Thomas Benton Fowler married the widow Mrs. Sarah Jane (nee Warinner) Morgan, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Polly (nee Riffe) Warinner ca. 1859 in Missouri.
