“Thomas McCuistion was also an officer in Captain John B. Dempsey's Company of Tennessee Militia during the War of 1812, and Samuel Fowler was a private in the same company. Both men received bounty land warrants based upon their service, which they used to patent land within Ray County.”

Son of William Perry Fowler, who died Dec 1805 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. His heirs are listed in a deed found in Rockingham County Deeds, Book P, page 271-273. His son, Samuel Fowler, was living in Bedford County, Tennessee on 5 Feb 1811 when he settled his portion of the estate.
