Husband of Mary Harris-An Old Soldier Dead-J.G.Harris, aged 76 years, an ex-Confederate soldier, member of Forrest City Camp, ex-county surveyor and one of the best citizens of St.Francis County, died at his home two miles west of town at an early hour Tuesday morning, March 26,1901. He was born in Wilson County, Tennessee on Nov.12,1826. He married at Spartanburg, S.C. to Miss Mary E.Bay, who died three years previous to his death.
