Alfred Harris was the son of James Harris and Priscilla Gilliam. Alfred's first wife was Priscilla Hearne whom he married in 1813. Not only was Priscilla Hearne his wife, but his step-sister. After his father's death, his mother Priscilla Gilliam Harris married William Hearne, Priscilla Hearne's father. It appears Priscilla Hearne Harris died with the birth of her last child William Houston Harris. Alfred married second Elizabeth Woodrum in 1831.
