Journalist, Author. She was a three-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and won numerous journalism awards. A syndicated columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, her commentaries on Texas and national politics appeared in publications throughout the country. She was the author of several books, including "Molly Ivins Can't Say That, Can She?," "You Got to Dance With Them That Brung You," and "Shrub," her account of George W. Bush's record as a Texas businessman and governor. She also wrote articles for Mother Jones, Esquire, The Nation, The Progressive and Harper's. Her radio and TV commentaries were heard on National Public Radio, The Newshour With Jim Lehrer and 60 Minutes. A graduate of Smith College, Ivins received a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University and was active in several media right's organizations, including Amnesty International's Journalism Network.
