SARAH JANE HUNTER 72, was married to Willis L. Hunter who was one of the first settlers in this country. They originally lived about one mile north of the cemetery in 1887-1888. He died in 1910. They had seven sons and four daughters. Henry, Bud, Wesley, Dan, John, Bob and Ben. Mrs. Paris Parmley, Mrs. Luke Sprouse and Mrs. Daniel Brown. Grandma Hunter was one of the original 14 church members of the first Church ever organized in this country. She and Uncle Willis united with the church when it was organized in 1887. It was a Church of Christ at the old log school house four miles north of present Comanche. Fourteen banded together and began the work of the Lord in this new, wild country. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Deaton, Mrs. Mary A. Wilkinson, Mrs. Pallie McMasters and myself, U. G. Wilkinson.
