Mrs. Annabel Widgeon Carpenter, 75, wife of the late Arnold Bruce Carpenter of Marionville, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at her residence. A native of Painter, she was the daughter of the late Crockett Widgeon and the late Blanche Widgeon. She was a retired postmistress of the Marionville Post Office and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Kris W. Carpenter and his wife Pam of Nassawadox, Va., & Dan B. Carpenter of Red Bank, Va.; and four grandchildren, Luke, Brad, Clint and Danielle Carpenter. She was predeceased by a brother, David Widgeon and a sister, Margaret Belote. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 17th at 2:30 PM from the graveside of Quinby Cemetery with Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, P.O. Box 316, Parksley, Va. 23421.
