Arnold Bruce Carpenter, 75, husband of Annabel Widgeon Carpenter and a resident of Marionville, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Johnsontown, he was the son of the late Rudolph L. Carpenter Sr. and the late Mary Grace Doland Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a retired self-employed carpenter and was a member and past Deacon of Maranatha Baptist Church. Other than his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kris W. Carpenter and his wife Pam of Nassawadox, and Dan B. Carpenter of Red Bank; a sister, Marie C. Melson of Delaware and a brother, Ret. Lt. Cdr. Rudolph Lee Carpenter Jr. of Springfield, Va.; and four grandchildren, Luke W. Carpenter, Brad W. Carpenter, Clint Lee Carpenter and Danielle Brooke Carpenter. Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 9, from the graveside of the Quinby Cemetery at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Muender and Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Eastern Shore, P. O. Box 316, Parksley, VA 23421.
