Maude was the daughter of Gustav and Emelia Johnson. She attended school near Fulda and was baptized and confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran Church at Dundee, MN. She married John Ankrum at Fulda, in February 1902. They farmed near Avoca following their marriage and moved to the Tracy area in 1932.
Maude and John were the parents of ten children, three sons preceding her in death. Surviving daughters are Grace Mattinger of Bremerton, WA, and Mrs. Ewald (Agnes) Ewy of Westbrook, and five sons, Harry of Chicago, IL, Fred, Emil, Charles, and Clarence of Tracy.
Maude's siblings include Carl Johnson of Marshalltown, IA; Emil Johnson of Milroy, MN; Oscar Johnson of Harlem, MT.
Maude passed away at her home in Tracy following a heart attack. Funeral services were held at the Ohman Funeral Home at Tracy on Thursday, the Rev. Richard Peterson officiating.
