Wilhelmina Franke (Stephan) was born in Gretienberg, Sacken, Germany to Gottlieb and Julia Stephan and came with her parents to Canada in 1854. In 1856 she married Thoedore Franke and came to Reed City in 1864. Eleven children were born to them, four of whom died in infancy. The deceased leaves her sorrowing husband, three sons, Dan, Ernest and John, four daughters, Mrs. Will Roggow, Mrs. Joe Dadles, Mrs. Henry Schumacher and Mrs. Dan Grein, 12 grandchildren, two brothers Ernest and Herman Stephan and one sister in Pennsylvania to mourn her death. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church. Mr. and Mrs. G. Franke of Traverse City, Herman Stephan of Lake City and Ernest Stephan of Paris were in attendance at the funeral.
