Louise Casto, 83, of Akron, passed away June 2, 2005.

Born in West Virginia, she had lived in the Akron area for most of her life, and retired from General Tire & Rubber Co. after 30 years service. She was a member of East Liberty Church of the Nazarene.

Preceded in death by her husband, Whitmer, and daughters, Patsy Casto and Bunny Staats, she is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Sonny) Leighton; stepdaughter, June (Eddie) Parsons; sisters, Hester Holder and Lana (Jarroll) O'Dell; brother, Blumefield (Macel) Backus; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Route 619), with Pastor Don Gainer officiating. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Inurnment at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 944 Wye Dr., Akron, OH 44303.
