Henry Babitzke, 86, of Amarillo, formerly of Spearman, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Darrouzett Cemetery in Darrouzett. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church in Spearman with the Rev. Ken Cole, the Rev. Neeley Landrum, Dickie Babitzke and the Rev. Derrill Evins officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mr. Babitzke was born May 13, 1920, in Lipscomb County. He lived in the area for a lifetime. He married Christina Schneider on June 14, 1942, in Ochiltree County. He was a farmer and rancher, bricklayer and a carpenter. He was a veteran of World War II 18th Field Artillery. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Eline Burch and husband Don of Canadian; two sons, Calvin Babitzke and wife Geneva of Borger and Buford Babitzke and wife Karen of Spearman; three sisters, Valentine Schoenhals of Lipscomb, Anita Anthony of Amarillo and Erna Gragert of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Christ Babitzke of Canadian; his dog, Tiny; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Spearman, 407 Haney St., Spearman, TX 79081 or a favorite charity.
