James Monroe Ricketts, 63, who had lived in Clark County nearly all of his life died suddenly today while plowing on his farm near manor.

During the 1890s he was superintendent of the state school for defective youth here. Following that he engaged in the grocery business in Vancouver. He had lived on the farm for several years. One daughter, Miss Bessie Ricketts; one son, Cecil, whereabouts unknown; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Bolen and Mrs. J. L. Garrett, both of Manor, Washington, and one brother, S. W. Ricketts of The Dalles, Oregon, survive. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
