Kay Frances Bowles, 81, of Mooresville, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

She was born on May 30, 1933 in Alexander County, to the late William Haiti and Ruth McCurdy Bowles. Ms. Bowles was a 1951 graduate of Mooresville High School. She worked for the Mooresville High School for over 51 years as a financial secretary, where the Class of 2014 dedicated their yearbook, The Pitchfork, to her. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville, where she served as the Sunday School secretary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lynn Bowles, Brice “Shorty” Bowles, E. Muriel Bowles, and Guy “Buddy” Bowles.

Ms. Bowles is survived by a brother, Julian Bowles and wife, Nell of Mooresville; sister-in-law, Carolyn Bowles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 15 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Ball and Rev. Hal Greene officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
