David Gordon Carson died December 25, 2015, at the age of 73. He was born on September 13, 1942.

David was the son of the late Harry Carson and Cora Lovett Carson.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Teddy Jo Throneberry Carson; daughters, Amber Carson, Carrie Binkley (Alan), Robin Stenberg (Ryan); grandchildren, Sawyer and Ellory Binkley; step-granddaughters, McKenzie and Alayna Stenberg; brother, Kermit Carson (Joyce), sister Betty Sue Posey(Jimmy), and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was born and raised in Oneida, TN, and graduated from the University of Tennessee where he obtained his Chemical Engineering degree. Later he attended the University of Kentucky where he obtained his Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering. In the early sixties, David served as a member of the ROTC and was a Lt. in the Army during Vietnam.

David retired from the State of Tennessee after 30 years of service in the Division of Air Pollution Control. His special love other than his family was fishing and bluegrass music. He was a member of Brook Hollow Baptist Church for 30 years where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. David battled Parkinson Disease for 20 years. He and his wife attended several Parkinson Support groups over the years where they have made and kept many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brook Hollow Baptist Church or to the APDA (American Parkinson Disease Association).

A special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Aspire, Simple Solutions, and Avalon Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to David and his family over the past few months.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30th, from five to eight o'clock in the evening at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 31st, at one o'clock in the afternoon with visitation before the service from eleven o'clock until one o'clock.
