Bob was born in Knightsen at home, and he resided in Knightsen all of his life. He is survived by his High School sweetheart of 55 years Charlotte, his daughter, Robin, and his son Scott, and Scott's wife Katja and his two grandchildren, Alec and Lauren. He is also survived by his sister Angela Wilson, Betty Smith, and his brothers Frank and Vince Pastor. He was also predeceased by his father and mother Vicente and Angela Pastor. Also, his sisters Nellie Thayer, Lorraine Bowen, Mary Escalona, Christina Pastor, and his brother Victor Pastor.
Bob was a very active member of his community as a farmer, and he joined the local Oakley/Knightsen Volunteer Fire Department. He served the community as a Fireman for 44 years, and ended up as the Chief of the Oakley/Knightsen Fire District. In between farming and firefighting he enjoyed raising cattle, and being the representative for Contra Costa County Almond Grower's Assoc., restoring cars, fishing, wine making, and spending time with his family and friends and even doing some great cooking!
Friends and family are invited to a Rosary at Brentwood Funeral Home on Monday November 23rd at 7p.m., and a funeral mass on Tuesday November 24th at 11a.m., at Saint Anthony's Church in Oakley.
