"Fell Dead While Talking To His Partner --- Dr. John F. Gudgel, Known in This city, Dies at Hazleton.
"Hazleton, Ind., Oct. 5. --- Dr. John F. Gudgel, age 51 years, died at 8:30 o'clock this morning. He has been a sufferer from heart disease for about two years.
"He was in his office, talking to his partner, Dr. Arthur, when he fell backwards and died in a few minutes.
"Dr. Gudgel has been a leading physician here for twenty-five years and was a prominent member of his profession. He was a member of the M. E. church, a past master of masons and a member of the A.O.U.W. societies. He was the local surgeon for the E. & T. H. railroad and secretary of the board of health.
"The deceased leaves a wife, five children, a father, Andrew Gudgel of Oakland City, three brothers, Levin W., attorney, Princeton, Ind., J. A., physician, Cynthiana, Ind., and W. H., attorney in Washington."
