He was born Arie Uittenbogaard (= Out of the Orchard) in March 1863 in the country village of Meerkerk, located in the southeastern part of the Dutch southwestern province Zuid-Holland, son of Arie Uittenbogaard and Elisabeth Springer.

In January 1866 his mother Elisabeth Springer died at the age of 41 years in Meerkerk, Zuid-Holland.

On June 6, 1884 Arie Uittenbogaard married in the village of Tienhoven, located in the southeastern part of province Zuid-Holland, on the southern banks of the Lek River, at the age of 21 years the two years younger Geertje van Middelkoop, born on July 3, 1864 in the village of Langerak, also located at the southern banks of the Lek River, about 3 miles southwest of Tienhoven, daughter of Gerrit van Middelkoop and Jannigje Demper.

They had the following children Uittenbogaard in the southeastern part of province Zuid-Holland, Netherlands:
* Gerrit, born on 19 May 1886 in Langerak;
* Arie, 1 May 1887, Langerak;
* Adriaan, 14 May 1888, Langerak, died on 19 June 1888 in Langerak;
* Jannigje, 28 July 1889, Tienhoven, died before September 1892, probably in the USA;
* Adriaan, 13 May 1891, Tienhoven.

Between May 1891 and September 1892 they emigrated to the USA, to the village of Hebron in the northeastern part of Illinois, very close to the border with Wisconsin. According to a document concerning his naturalization by a court in Chicago Harry Bogard, formerly named Harry Uittenbogaard, arrived on 7 April 1892 at New York.

In June 1900 Harry Bogard (37 years old, born in March 1863 in Holland, immigrated in 1892, farm laborer), his wife Mary (37, July 1863 [has to be: 1864], Holland, immigrated in 1892, mother of 3 deceased and 7 living children), their children Garrett (14, May 1886, Holland, 1892, farm laborer), Harry (13, May 1887, Holland, 1892, farm laborer), Adrian (9, May 1891, Holland, 1892), Jennie (8, September 1892, Illinois), William (7, September 1893, Illinois), Lizzie (5, August 1895, Illinois) and Mary (8 months, September 1899, Illinois) were living in Hebron village, located about 60 miles northwest of Chicago, close to the Wisconsin border, Hebron Township, McHenry County, Illinois.

About 1903 Harry remarried the 11 years older Zwaantje (Sadie) Rietveld (= Reed field), who was also born in the Netherlands and widowed too [of Nijs Den Dikken].

In 1905 Harry Bogard (41, Holland)), his wife Susie (52, Holland), his children Girred (19), Harry (18), Adrian (14), Jennie (13), Lizzie (10), Wm (11) and Alice Bogard (5, Illinois), and her children Nellie Dicken (16, Illinois), Harry Dicken (13, Illinois) and Annie Dicken (13, Illinois [Find A Grave Memorial 134507514]) were living in the town of Bloomfield, Walworth County, Wisconsin, located a few miles northeast of Hebron, just on the other side of the Illinois-Wisconsin border.

Between 1905 and 1910 they moved from Bloomfield, Wisconsin about 60 miles south to Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

In April 1910 Harry Bogard (47, Holland), his wife Sadie (58, Holland), their children Garrat (23, Holland), Nellie (20, Illinois), Harry (18), Abrem (18, Holland), Annie (16, Illinois), Jennie (16, Illinois), Willie (15, Illinois), Lizzie (13, Illinois) and Alice (10, Illinois) were living in Ward 33 of south Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

In January 1920 Harry Bogard (56, immigrated in 1891, widower, machine hand at a factory), his children William (25, Holland [has to be: Illinois], core maker at a factory), Elizebeth (23, working at a factory shipping department) and Alice (20) were living in a rented house at 409 W. 118th Street in Ward 9 of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

In 1930 Harry Bogard (66, widower) was living in Richmond, McHenry County again, Illinois, in the house of his daughter Elizabeth Seeman (33, Illinois), her husband Cornelius Seeman (36, Illinois), and their children Marian (7, Illinois) and Melvin (2, Illinois).

In April 1940 Harry Bogard (77, widower) was living in Hebron Township again, McHenry County, Illinois, still in the house of his daughter Elizabeth Seeman (43), her husband Cornelius Seeman (46, W.P.A., sewerage), and their children Marian G (17), Melvin R (12), Lois M (7, Illinois) and Gerald W Seeman (3, Illinois). They all lived in 1935 in the same house.

Harry Bogard died in November 1947 at the age of 83 years in Chicago and was buried in one of the 15 cemeteries in Worth Township, located just souhtwest of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, quite likely in Mount Greenwood or Mount Hope Cemetery, of which the addresses are located nowadays in Chicago.
