Born in Providence, the son of the late Harold and Emeline (Lowe) Ballou.
He was a professor of Art at CCRI until retiring; he previously worked at the family business, Ballou 's Barrington Bootery. He was a member of the Providence Art Club and was a RISD Alumni. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving in the 117th Infantry Division.
He leaves a son, Seth Ballou of Warwick, two daughters Sarah Fay and Rebecca Ballou both of Riverside, two sisters, Joan Rich of Syracuse, NY, Paula Miller of Shelby Township, Michigan and 6 grandchildren.
The burial will be private.
