Mrs. Sam Cockrill Dies in Denison
Mrs. Sam Cockrill, 72, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carl Badgett, 705 Monterrey St., Denison, after a short illness. Mrs. Cockrill had moved to Denison five months ago to make her home with her daughter.
Born June 16, 1877 in Tennessee she came to Texas in 1897 and made her home in Fannin county until moving to Denison.
Survivors include two sons, Byron Cockrill and Weldon Cockrill, both of Bonham; one daughter, Mrs. Carl Badgett, Denison; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services have been announced for 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Wise Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John W. Morphis, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Bonham, and Rev. H. C. Henderson, pastor of the Waples Memorial Methodist Church Denison officiating. Burial will be in English cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Barney Gross, Clifford Vernon, Raleigh Abernathy, Frank Parson, Joel Kelley and Lem Tittsworth.
